This event has passed.
Downtown Danville, Inc. staff and volunteers worked on this second annual event for months, and we were ready when some of the BBQ competition teams starting rolling in Thursday night. From Thursday night through Sunday night, a core group of volunteers made the festival happen, whether it was setting up, greeting visitors, selling tickets, drinks and food or cleaning up.
The idea of the event is to be more than just a taste of the area’s food, but also a taste of the cultural aspects, arts, music and more from the downtown area and beyond. The people who volunteered to make the event happen believe in downtown and in Danville. Besides the planning committee that worked all year long to prepare, we had more than enough volunteers to help with all the little tasks that have to be done to pull off an event of this size.
We want to say thank you to all of those who worked to make it a success. The friendships and partnerships that are built doing projects like this make it all worth it.
