New restaurant The Varsity Room and DDI hosted a Fall Pep Rally with Danville High School, filling Temple Plaza with football players, the marching band, cheer squads, and fans in September 2009. 
DDI partnered with the City of Danville to renovate the front area of the Palace Park entrance through a grant provided by Keep Vermilion County Beautiful in summer 2009.
Downtown Danville Mud Volleyball brought out 23 teams this year to raise money for DDI, Downtown Danville Rotary, and Habitat for Humanity in September 2009.
Classic vehicles made their way through downtown Danville for this year's Drivin' the Dixie event in June 2009.
